Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
GlitchX operates this service. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We don't collect passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Google. We also store the GlitchX ID you choose, and the biography you write on your account page if you choose to add one, and optionally what you are building for. You can clear any of these at any time from your account page. What other people can see is set out under “What Other Users Can See” below.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the Service — pages viewed, general location (country/city level), device and browser type, and how you interact with the site. These tools set cookies in your browser. They do not load at all unless you accept them in the cookie banner.
Error logs. We use Sentry to catch and fix bugs. When an error occurs, Sentry may automatically capture technical details including your IP address as part of the error report.
Scan data. If you use the Service to scan a website, we request and process performance, accessibility, SEO, best practices, and security diagnostic data from Google PageSpeed Insights and Mozilla Observatory.
How We Use This Information
We use the information above only to operate, maintain, and improve the Service — for example, keeping you signed in, showing you your scan history, and fixing bugs. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not have any Google Analytics advertising features (remarketing, demographics/interest reporting) enabled.
What Other Users Can See
If you use GlitchX as a Vibe Coder, you have a builder profile. Other signed-in Vibe Coders can open it. It shows your name and picture from Google, your GlitchX ID, your biography, what you are building for, the domains you have verified as yours, your streak, your Spotlight placings and your badges. The same details appear beside your entries on the Spotlight.
Your email address is never shown on your profile. There is exactly one way another user can receive it: they send you a reach-out request and you accept it. Declining it, or leaving it alone, shares nothing. You are not given their address in return — accepting opens a conversation inside GlitchX, it is not an exchange of contact details.
If you use GlitchX as an Analyzer, none of this applies: there is no builder profile for you, you do not appear on any Spotlight, and nobody can send you a reach-out. You can switch between the two at any time from your account page, and switching to Analyzer removes you from those surfaces without deleting anything you have already earned.
Sharing
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do share it with the service providers named above (Google, Microsoft Clarity, Sentry) strictly so they can perform the function we use them for — authentication, analytics, and error monitoring.
Cookies
The Service uses cookies to keep you signed in and, if you accept them, for the analytics described above. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though this may prevent you from staying signed in. You can also change your analytics choice at any time from the cookie preferences link in the footer.
Scorecards
Scorecards are private by construction. The image is generated on demand and delivered only to you — there is no public link, no shared page, and nothing is stored anywhere between generation and download. Anything you post publicly is a file you chose to share yourself.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting us at the email below. If you're in a region with specific data protection rights (such as the EU/GDPR, California/CCPA, or India's DPDP Act), those rights apply to you as provided by law.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we'll update the effective date above.

This policy is written around the specific tools this app actually uses (Google Sign-In, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Sentry). It's a reasonable starting point, but it isn't legal advice — if you need stronger assurance it covers a particular country's obligations, it's worth a review by a lawyer.
